An inkle loom is an old style of loom that produces a warp-faced fabric. It produces very strong narrow bands in whatever colours are available! The loom I have is a small one and it can produce a band up to a bit under 6' long and around 1" wide.
This is my Inkle Loom - technically an Inklette Loom because it is smaller than a standard Inkle Loom.
It is set up to weave the 2nd half of the sax strap (1st part pictured below, finished strap photos to follow)
This one will be a saxaphone strap - an updated photo will follow once the strap is complete!
This was my first attempt!
And this one is now my hat band!
This is the newest Inkle loom band - just started
Much of the warp is the same yarn that was used for one of the hats - the "Liquorice Allsort": 51% Recycled Cotton/49% Acrylic, hand dyed by us on the boat. The rest is 100% Cotton - i.e. the black at the edges and the cerise in the centre...
I will post more photos once it's complete!
