Free Knitting Pattern

This is the first one and, alas, probably the only free one. We'll see how it goes... Scroll down the page for more.

The basics are: around 50g of 4-ply sock wool (I use the 75% wool/25% nylon stuff) and a set of 4 size 2.5mm needles. The gloves are knitted in the round, increasing for the thumbs (placed differently for each hand so that they fit properly), continuing to the base of the fingers, then picking up & knitting each finger separately. Then picking up and knitting the thumb.

The pattern is for two different sizes: small to medium & medium to large adult hands, but could be adjusted fairly easily. There is an empty lined page and a blank page for your own notes.

I have knitted many pairs for myself... and also as presents for people.

Long and Short Socks Pattern - info

Knee length socks and short socks. But not just any old sock patterns - these socks are designed to fit left and right feet and they come with the option to add extra reinforcement not just at the heel but also under the ball of the foot and the toe. Exciting stuff huh?

It costs £8.00

There is also a booklet available on how to knit socks - if you are new to it - but it includes things like how to make them fit each foot and make them last long enough to justify the time spent knitting them...
